pilgrimjourneys on the Martin-Luther-Way with the pilgrimagency "PIA - a journey within"

If you are brave enough to leave behind everything familiar and comforting (which can be anything from your house to your bitter old resentments) and set out on a truth-seeking journey (either externally or internally), and if you are truly willing to regard everything that happens to you on that journey as a clue, and if you accept everyone you meet along the way as a teacher, and if you are prepared - most of all - to face (and forgive) some very difficult realities about yourself....then truth will not be withheld from you.”

Elizabeth Gilbert. Eat, Pray, Love.

1. ‘Halle-Lu-Ja Pilgrimage
Pilgrimage from Halle along Luther's Way to the Way of St James

This trip starts in the city of Halle on the Saale River in the Market Church where Luther preached. Through old villages, whose fairytale half-timbered houses have been preserved since Luther's time, and through enchanting vineyards by Suessen See (Sweet Lake), the way wanders to the Luther city of Eisleben. Here Martin Luther was born and later died.

Here is also where Luther's Way meets the Way of St James. The first station, Helfta, the ‘crown of German convents’, is a destination in itself. The rift between religious denominations can be, like our own internal flaws, symbolically healed.

Luther decisively influenced an age in which the ‘matrix’ or worldview, unexpectedly and completely shifted. Do we live in a time in which a fundamental shift is possible again? What ideas of God and the world do you hold fixed? What is your highest ideal? Where do you still have questions?
Martin Luther and his age will stimulate thought and discoveries, and the realization that beyond all questions lies vision.
No one need define that for you, as God can communicated directly with you. Is that Lutheran?

Short pilgrimage stages, two nights camping, a bus trip from Eisleben to Luther;s childhood school in Mansfeld, a castle visit, interacting with the Middle Ages in Zappendorf and Eisleben , and other adventures make this pilgrimage just right for teens.
